    Very good

    Reception staff very nice!

Expensive for the quality of the room, windows were not double glazing - the wind disturbed us all night. Breakfast 14.95 when booking on-line, 9.99 when we arrived.

    Very good

Pleasant staff, sea view, bed and pillows were comfortable

Unfortunately, this hotel is not good value for money at all. We paid £205. The sea view and room size was good, but the furnishings in the room were so dated. Furniture falling apart and looks like it was installed in the 1960s/1970s. Bathroom was appalling for a hotel of this price... Shower over the bath with just a curtain. Surface of the bath flaking and old. I would expect a separate shower cubicle for the price we paid. This hotel has a 4* view, but 2*/3* facilities. Would not recommend.

The location was great. Different kinds of pillows (firm, soft) were offered in the rooms.

Overall this hotel was definitely not worth the money. Staff: (when you could find a member of staff!) were incredibly slow and really didn't seem to care less. Internet: we requested 24hrs internet service in our room (10 GBPs) but the signal was so poor we had to cancel it. Our only other option was to pay for it and sit in the lobby whenever we wanted to use it. Or pay for a terribly overpriced glass of wine in the bar and receive a code for the internet in the lobby. So we cancelled the internet, and were assured by the staff at the reception that our bill would be sorted out so that charge wouldn't come up. Nope, still had to explain to a different staff member and get the bill amended. Side View Room: a joke. 95% of our window view was made up of the hotel facing us, and unless we craned our heads we didn't have a sea view. To swap rooms it would have been an extra 50 GBPs a night. No thanks. The windows couldn't even be opened if we wanted a better look. The revolving door in the lobby failed to revolve 70% of the time. The room lacked any general hotel information, any option to hang a menu on our door to get breakfast delivered to the room, it had no mini bar or drinks menu in the room. The reception on the tv was rubbish. No safe in the rooms. Half the sockets in the hotel room were so old that they didn't support modern day plugs. One of the worst hotels I've stayed in.

    Fabulous

Always enjoy a Holiday Inn breakfast

The only real niggle is the car park which is a bit on the expensive side (along with most parking in Brighton) and a very tight squeeze - had I been in my normal car I don't think I would have made it over the inclines without scraping my front end.

    Location

The hotel is very old and in need of serious renovation. The room smells old and staile wood. The curtains have stains on them.

Staff were nothing more then very welcoming, they went out of their way to make us happy, and are friendly. The room was so comfy I didn't want to leave.

Food was a little expensive for what it was.

    Good

An adequate hotel, he £20 a night to park a car was a surprise. The rooms are satisfactory although the shower height was a joke. I felt i paid top dollar for adequate service.

a shower at chest height... really??

    Very good

Bed was very comfortable and it was one of the few in Brighton that allowed you to book one night only. If you got a sea view it would have been fantastic (but we didn't)

It called an deluxe room and was quite small. I was definitely underwhelmed by it and annoyed that I had paid £140 for the privilege. The bathroom needed re-doing with mould and cracked seals around the bath. There was also an unpleasant smell which imrpoved when we opened the window for a few hours.

    Fabulous

The reception staff were excellent and gave us a very positive impression of the hotel.

The rooms were excellent but the decor on the floor landings is a little tired looking.

    Fabulous

Hotel staff were very friendly, location of the hotel excellent and the rooms very clean.

Parking charge extorsionate at £17.50 per night and almost impossible to enter underground car park with 4x4.

Very friendly staff who were happy to help and make our stay as pleasant as possible. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable, with very good facilities and everything was either provided for or could be supplied by asking at reception. Excellent location next to the beach and close to the shopping areas, city attractions and restaurants.
